Mental Slavery

First day of 2017 is slowly coming to an end. It has been a decent day, I must say. I woke up a bit too early due to going to bed way too late, but it happens easily you know. It has been a chill day though – the only really productive thing I have done is to clean up the bathroom, which was well necessary, and tomorrow I’ll head off to get some extra pieces for the bathroom to make it perfect. Sometimes, you need these kind of small things to create some sort of balance.

This year I’ve promised myself to really start to prioritize better and take care of myself. It’s so easy to say “new year, new me” and I wouldn’t say this is the case, rather that I gave myself a due date, that, now we’re starting. My plan is to invest a lot more in work – not my dayjobs, because I can only invest so much time in them of course, but everything else – like the blog, like writings. I have a lot of plans that I hope I can at least get a shot at this year, so hopefully, I will have a lot of interesting things to tell you about soon enough! But for now, I have to keep zipped.

Shiraz Lane kept me company while cleaning. I’m not sure if I ever gave them enough credit during the tour in all honesty, or perhaps they are simply one of those bands you really have to listen to a bit before you actually start liking them, but I’m growing more and more fond of the album, so maybe if I run into them in the future I’ll be a bit more positive toward them musicwise, hehe.

Oh. My plan this year is to properly listen through every single one of my albums, by the way. It’s going to take A LOT of time since I sometimes will have to stop to cover some new releases, but I’m positive. With a dayjob that enables me to listen to music for seven (!!) hours straight, it should be a no brainer to finish off ten albums in a day or so, or even more. Like I said, it’s all about priorities. The reason I want to do this is because sometimes you forget about the hidden little golden coins that maybe you didn’t enjoy in the past, or perhaps forgot about because the albums in general was shit. My plan is to dig them up again, and put them in a large playlist to have either for parties, but also as a reminder to myself. Let the challenge begin. I’ll keep you updated as time goes by, shall I?

For now though, I’ll cuddle up with Anders Johanssons biography “The Drummer Boy” and enjoy the rest of the evening calmly.
